Hey Sayter, longtime fan of this mod
It's been a few years since I've played and wanted to ask, are recipes still invisible in the research tree until you've crafted the necessary/relevant items? I remember before the big Research update that that's how you learned how to make new items, like learning what one of the Alloys are when you first smelt a necessary bar like Zerchesium Bar -> Advanced Alloy

I don't dislike the Research system, I just really enjoy the wonder of making something for the first time naturally teaches you how to make new items that you've never seen before. That's something that the Tree system spoiled for me, I don't want to know what things will teach me until I make them.

I've tried looking into other people making similar requests or mods to address this rather particular hang-up, but it always just came to "go admin mode and unlock everything" or "make every research node require 1 point to unlock".

Are they really there? I've flown from the top floor to the bottom floor but couldn't find even one. If there are any, please tell me about their distribution - is it dense or sparse? At the top floor or the bottom floor?
Marzipug 12 dec. la 0:42
Literally amazing. Made the game so much better.
Bad Pipe 11 dec. la 4:58
Dear Author, could you pls let orange grav liquid and blue grav liquid mix as contaminated water? On some planets there are both kind of grav rains, and they make poodles with one liquid and the other liquid floating as squares. That really triggers my OCD.
Sayter  [autor] 9 dec. la 19:10
They are there. It will not say they are if they are not :)
蔚音凛湮窗弦 9 dec. la 14:35
Dear Author, in the "More Planet" MOD, I noticed that the asteroids contain more advanced minerals than "Durasteel Ore". However, I couldn't find it. Is this a bug? If not, where are the advanced minerals usually distributed in the asteroid belt?
VoidFP68n 8 dec. la 14:16
@butcherbrood2
That's weird, do you have other mods installed?
Doomzy 7 dec. la 16:54
The energy cost of melee attacks/combos seems to be poorly implemented. I would have expected to be punished for depleting energy with melee strikes, but it seems I am actually rewarded. Rapiers and some other weapon types attack at an incredibly quick pace (Far quicker than their standard speed) when my energy bar is empty. To replicate this, equip a shortsword or longsword and dual wield it with a rapier, then hold down both mouse buttons until energy is gone.

hello! my mech got destroyed and now i cant use it at all, anytime i spawn in a space environment or on a planet with my mech, or even summon it with the sidebar it is instantly destroyed. i checked the log but its not throwing any errors and i cant repair it with the tool either.
Tekno 6 dec. la 8:36
Also, I find it weird how when I capture a creature, the entry isn't fulfilled in the collections panel. Like with adult poptops for example.

TL:DR Extenuates the worst of the vanilla grind, and exemplifies the worst mechanics of starbound.

Some other mods have "fixed" vanilla mechanics by allowing the crafting in other stations that by common sense should be allowed. This mod facilitates the need for how-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-many more stations, in the same gameplay mode-set as vanilla, but worse because research is a thing. You can't ignore them. Just so you know these researches and quests are just a lot of button clicking in the theme of WoW fetch quests. They COULD do this in a way of multiple progressions, but instead they act as hurdles... And what do i mean by that? Having crafted 20 tungsten bars, Vs. having 20 tungsten bars is an example.

So, No, Its not worth what it adds, Vanilla has too many crafting stations already. I would call it a vanilla+ mod but its literally rewriting vanilla in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, and worse way.
Sidrowit 4 dec. la 6:31
Does this Mod work under Mac OS 26 and Silicon Chip?
Tzyder 29 nov. la 17:31
I've thankful for Sayter on thanksgiving :)
nvmmmmmmmmmmm
um can u fix the avian ship level like when its at level 8 its the normal one btw im useing a command. shipT8. is that the problem <3
StegosaurusTTV 23 nov. la 18:52
It would be great if there was a "lite" version of this mod that only added the worlds and biomes, since this is the only mod that has blood liquid, not everyone is a fan of overhaul mods, I appreciate them always but would appreciate a lite version too.
this may be a dumb or imposible idea but make the head move with the coursur. idk how to spell XD
Tekno 23 nov. la 4:18
I'll be honest, it's a great mod, just wish I could do without the whole ammo system since it breaks the Weapon Assembly mod.

I just love making rayguns with that mod when it comes to machine pistols, lol
Loududdy 22 nov. la 15:53
FU does some things right, but mostly exacerbates all the problems and issues Vanilla Starbound suffers from but just makes it.. a little bit better but also while adding a huge amount of bloat into the mix because the developers refuse to have any degree of modularity. If you just want to be able to pump oil and refine it, you'll also be lumped with an entire kitchen's worth of ♥♥♥♥ you didn't want. (Also you can't even have oil oceans without two patches, because the Dev's really want you to play the mod a specific way and added a counter to the first patch.)

If you're hoping for a big mod that'll fix the glaring issues of Vanilla Starbound. This isn't what you're looking for. BUT if you like futuristic feeling stuff and grinding grinding grinding you'll prolly like it
Juggernaut Drive (SWE) 21 nov. la 10:47
Does it support multiplayer?
Bob of Mage 18 nov. la 9:59
If you can't land on a planet, then some sort of error is happening. Go to the pinned bug reporting thread for further help.
не DelphyIce 18 nov. la 6:24
With this mod, I'm just not allowed on desert planets
MathmagicianNWS 17 nov. la 21:01
Oh! No, I mean I'm happy to investigate myself, I just wanted to know what the race ability that does the regen in FU uses as its trigger. Like, does it rely on light level or is it just based on local planet time?
Sayter  [autor] 17 nov. la 19:10
No idea whatsoever. Never had that issue.
MathmagicianNWS 16 nov. la 15:00
I have a large mod list (though I've checked against your incompatibilities for any conflicts and found none) and am noticing my Novakid's daytime regen is happening at night too (when hunger is high enough). Not too troubling for me as it doesn't really make him any more overpowered, but I was wondering how the ability gets triggered? Like does it use light level or check the time on the planet? I don't mind doing my own digging in my modlist to fix my own issues but I'm not sure what to look for.
Graham 16 nov. la 14:17
Hello! I just completed the quest underneath the Outpost to turn my ship into BYOS, but I already had a BYOS ship from the start. Now, it doesn't count as a BYOS ship, not allowing me to toggle atmosphere and not requiring an FTL drive to jump between systems. Is there any way I could revert this, does anyone know what's going on? Thanks!
Sayter  [autor] 16 nov. la 7:11
Eh, thats not what I'm saying. Just that - why should anyone announce their opinion on a porn mod, period? It's irrelevant nonsense. If you wanna use that weird ♥♥♥♥, go ahead - but to blast about it on a comment section is....kinda weird.
VoidFP68n 16 nov. la 3:47
@Sayter
That's right, those freaks that actually interact with that nsfw mod don't deserve anything
Sayter  [autor] 15 nov. la 19:23
Chromebox, looks like something incompatible. Something you have installed is mucking with a shiplights dimensions in the animation file, resulting in the dungeon breaking when it tries to place them.
Sayter  [autor] 15 nov. la 19:21
Klingenmeister - then you havent unlocked its recipe from its mother node, or need to upgrade your armor bench.
Chromebox 15 nov. la 17:17
I have a problem in the Letheia fleet, the dungeon won't load, here starbound log https://pastebin.com/LjEJHzLw
Klingenmeister 15 nov. la 8:09
"Aquire Mutavisk Helm" I have all the research and Bio Thread, but I cant craft the helmet in any crafting station
Tekno 15 nov. la 5:36
Yeah, it's best if people just keep things like that to themselves instead of just actively seeking someone out for more support mods for it.

I can bet you 9/10 that most people don't want anything to do with Sexbound.
Sayter  [autor] 15 nov. la 4:34
Oh, its the abbreviation for Sexbound? Lawl. Nobody cares about Sexbound other than the creepy little weirdos that use it. I have no reason to broadcast a single thing about it, ever.
Tekno 15 nov. la 0:06
@Sayter

It's an nsfw mod on LoversLab.
Sayter  [autor] 14 nov. la 19:27
I have no idea what SxB even is.
Piss Man 13 nov. la 12:34
i recommend you specify in the description weather you object to SxB related addons, if one does not want such content based on your mod its best to say so.
TheeDicTater 12 nov. la 12:15
Were you guys watching me and my friends play this or something lol. We spent too damn long trying to set up our generators to only turn on and off when needed just yesterday lmao
Sayter  [autor] 11 nov. la 11:57
Most of the races are ominovorous because that's what they are. This is established in the core races lore - which we won't change (Florans eating meat, Glitch specialized diet, etc.) The FU races have a carnivore, three entities (one with a specialized diet), and a lithovore.

There are actually a *number* of variants on each theme, too - some are omnivores but are affected differently by certain foods. They arent employed often, but they do exist.

The rest is up to people to support via their races patches, etc.

I've no intent to change diet types arbitrarily without reason if it doesn't fit the race, though. You of course can easily patch it if you desire!
Damian 11 nov. la 2:25
Hi i wanna ask you - can you make a patch tomake less omnivore races? I mean almos all are omnivore. No herbivores, only florans as i remember are carnivorous. Or if someone know a mod for it - can you share?
Levianne 5 nov. la 6:54
Sayter - yes, I figured it out, it's Foodie's Furniture, your mod integrated it, so there's no reason to have it standalone with it. I've updated all installed mods, had no idea about integration, so that's that. Removed FF and now it works as it should. Cheers and keep up the great work.
Sayter  [autor] 5 nov. la 6:05
GoofyGuy: You are referencing a youtube LetsPlay from 6 years ago that I never watched. No idea what you even refer to. But maybe?
Sayter  [autor] 5 nov. la 6:03
Levianna: You have conflicts installed. In this case, one that is clearly listed in the incompatible list - I cannot recall the name at the moment but it adds Burger Fool. That content is already within FU itself, and cannot work in tandem with the standalone.
Sayter  [autor] 5 nov. la 6:02
Nando: Sounds like you are using things outside of FU that are affecting lighting. OSB maybe, or something like it? That doesnt happen normally.
GoofyGuy73 4 nov. la 12:32
hey when i saw episode 1 of theocarinamaker i saw it had a different start, is that vanilla frackin universe?
Levianne 3 nov. la 16:42
Does anyone know which other mod adds the item "Foolhead"? I know FU does, but I get a fatal error, item exception, duplicate item with the name "Foolhead", no idea, how to solve it without removing FU. I'm used to play with this mod, so not gonna leave it behind.
Nandostal 3 nov. la 6:44
Whenever I go to a dark or shaded area, it keeps flickering, trying to illuminate the place. I try using a brightness enhancement, which improves it a little, but it still flickers in dark areas. I think it must be a problem with the racial ability "Glow in the Dark." I've tried everything and it doesn't solve the problem.
Sayter  [autor] 2 nov. la 20:12
We haven't edited anything to do with Nightar in years, and I don't seem to experience what you are talking about - without more information there's really nothing more I can say.
Nandostal 2 nov. la 6:13
Help, when I play with the Nightar race, it keeps glitching with the lighting, flickering in shaded areas. I've already uninstalled all the mods that alter the lighting, but it doesn't fix it. Please help me, it's my favorite race.
