Description
What is it?
Ragdoll Mover is a tool that allows you to move ragdolls in a similar way to 3D programs. This also includes IK chains.

Why should I use it?
If you are fine with physgun, then maybe you don't need to use this. But here's a few key features of why you might want to use this in certain situations:
-You can move ragdolls without limitations from the ragdoll physics; you can twist the ragdoll's head upside down without problems.
-When you rotate a bone, it's child bones will rotate with it. So you can rotate the ragdoll's arm like you've welded the lower arm and hand to the upper arm. (Except, as mentioned, without physical limitations.)
-By moving the ragdoll's root bone (usually the pelvis), you can move the entire ragdoll like it's a statue!
-Contrary to bones moving relatively to their parent bones, there's IK chains. IK chains are used to keep certain bones in an exact position while moving, for example, the rest of the body. This is most commonly used with legs and arms.

I'm still confused
Then watch the video! It might clear things up.

Are you going to keep updating this?
Current version of the tool seems to be doing most of the things I'd like it to do, but in case of any bugs showing up, those would be fixed up.

Please read the F.A.Q.!

If any bugs occur, report them here.

Or, you can report them here: https://github.com/Winded/RagdollMover/issues

Interested in improving the tool further? You can test the Beta version of Ragdoll Mover. This version contains new, untested features, which will go to the main version after more testing. We fix bugs and push updates faster on the beta than this version, and it circumvents the long content check wait times!

Speaking of long content check times, dim sum un made a write-up which clears up some misunderstandings about Ragdoll Mover's hidden status.

There's also a possibility to translate Ragdoll Mover through GMod's resource files, in case if you'd like to help translate the tool in your language, you can help! You can fork ragdoll mover github repo and then add translations there. If you submit a pull request, write either here or contact PenolAkushari to check and update it to the workshop.

I’ve made a thread to summarize the issue with selecting ragdolls with this tool. For those affected, I suggest reading and replying to this, as it’ll help me fix the selection problem

@Pastaeater
Disabling collision is interesting. Might be an addon that’s messing with selecting ragdolls. Would you be able to send an unlisted Youtube video (or whatever method of video sharing) showing how that looks? E.g. do you see any bones when hovering over prop, etc.? Sending it here is okay

If you can’t figure out how to send me a video, then run this command:
lua_run local ent = RAGDOLLMOVER[Entity(1)].Entity print(ent and ent:GetModel() or "no entity selected")

The above command also helps me figure out the selection bug, but the collision disabling is a good lead

I appreciate the double communication here and in Stop Motion Helper’s workshop comments, but keep its issues there

@dim sum un apparently i cant use stopmotion helper on ragdolls either but the props work fine

@Pastaeater
Did you see the comment below to help troubleshoot that? Open the console (figure out how to do that), and run the command, and tell me if you get a model or “no entity selected” message

Might be better to show how this is done and put this in a discussion post, rather than burying it in the comment section. Stay tuned for that

im having a bujg where the ragdoll mover will not select the ragdoll is there a way to fix this?

How does it mess up the "Show Skeleton" option by the way? Usually, the bones should draw to the fingers. Where are they drawing to now?

Constrained entities / lock bone settings don't get saved with the HL2 save system. You have to use the GMod save system. Maybe that might fix an issue with the missing fingers..? I'm also interested in knowing how you ended up using HL2 saves over GMod saves

Also, currently the game will lose constrained entities + lock bone setting after loading a save
But I was wondering if the way saving game process does relate to these issue (I use the HL2 one)
