Hello, hoomans!

2025 was a difficult and exhausting year for all of us.

Even though we released only A Building Full of Cats 2, we worked tirelessly on updates for our already released games and on new projects for 2026.

Here is a list of what we did in 2025:

A Planet Full of Cats is moving steadily in development and is shaping up to be a huge experience. We are going full force into the more fantasy and adventurous side of Devcats that we know you love.
Flats Full of Cats - We want to build an ever expanding game that also helps us alleviate the pressure of working on full scale projects. Working on buildings can be hard, but it can be very satisfatory to watch something you made getting done! To celebrate getting things done we will release a demo for Flats Full of Cats next week!
Fluffy Escape: Cryptic Cube - Being creative cats means exploring new paths. Opening the door to brand new ideas and playful experiments is a must, and we are incredibly excited about this game.
Mobile ports - Being selected for the Google Indie Games Fund was a huge honor and an important boost for our studio. This is especially important as 2026 will mark the year Devcats goes mobile.
Console ports - We will finally release more games for Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch in 2026!
We are also working on a surprise project that has not yet been announced!

Alongside all these projects and events, we experienced an immeasurable loss: our greatest hero, our beloved and sweet Fofiño, who was the main inspiration behind the birth and purpose of Devcats. When the pandemic hit, our livelihood disappeared. Because he was an FIV+ cat, Fofiño required a lot of care (food, medication, and veterinary attention), and the humans’ money was simply not enough.

Desperate over the lack of food for us, the humans decided to turn things around and gave us the mission of becoming game developers. Fofiño, the first cat rescued from the streets by our humans, wanted part of the profits from our games to go toward helping abandoned cats, just as he once was.

Losing Fofiño was a heavy blow for all of us, but we will continue honoring his memory and legacy—and we could not do any of this without the support of you, our incredible and loving community.

We hope to continue this journey together with you in 2026, and we would like to thank you for all the support you have given us over the years, especially throughout 2025, with all the love and kindness that poured in through messages of affection and comfort after Fofiño’s passing. He is watching over us from Heaven, and we will surely meet again one day. ✨

May 2026 bring lots of love, cats, health, and peace to everyone in the world.

FLATS FULL OF CATS Announcement

Hello hoomans!
Three years ago, we released our first hidden object game, A Building Full of Cats. Since then, we have launched seven games in the series, with more currently in development. After exploring many different themes, it has become clear to us that the future of the series lies in larger games with a stronger focus on new mechanics and storytelling.

This naturally limits how many titles we can release because creating these worlds takes a long time. Many times we come up with ideas for smaller games, but we also know that releasing very small titles would go against the natural growth of the series. At the same time, we constantly receive requests for more frequent releases.

So we came up with the following idea!

Flats Full of Cats is a building that is not bound by time or space. It will allow us to explore fun and creative ideas that we love but that would not have enough content to become a full standalone game.

Each floor contains three apartments, and each apartment has three rooms or a similar layout. Every floor is a self-contained episode with its own story and a quest that connects the three apartments.

The game will include three play modes: Story, Expert, and Time Attack.

Story Mode features three hundred cats with detailed designs that match the theme of each floor, along with the story quest.

Expert Mode features three hundred minimalist cats designed for players with sharp eyes and plenty of experience. This mode also includes extra items to find.

Time Attack Mode is a replay-oriented mode that generates a mix of one hundred Story and Expert cats and records how long you take in each apartment. It is designed for players who enjoy personal challenges and does not need to be played to complete the story. There are no online rankings filled with cheaters. It is simply you and the game.

The game will be sold by floor. The first floor will be free, and every additional floor will cost 1.99 dollars. Each floor contains one full episode, three apartments, ten rooms, six hundred cats, a themed quest, and sixty items to find.

At launch, the game will include one free floor and four paid floors. Each floor is completely independent, allowing players to purchase only the themes they find most interesting.

Because this game will receive frequent DLC releases, achievements will be available only in the free base version. This helps keep progression consistent for everyone while allowing each additional floor to be enjoyed as standalone content.

The main focus for this release is PC and mobile platforms.

This model allows us to create more content between the release of larger titles in the series while keeping our entire art team active and supported. It is an indie-friendly way of sustaining the people who bring these worlds to life, including the ones who need to feed their own cats!
