This is the tale of "Pebernødder"

"Pebernødder" is an old kind of cookie that today is best known as the Christmas tradition's "brunkager", "honningkager" and "Pebernødder". These are among those of today's Danish foods that can be traced back in time. The "Pebernødder" can at least be dated to the end of the 15th century.
