The year is Anno Domini 400, the Roman Empire is in a state of peril.

Large Migrations into the Western Roman empire are not new, however the latest migrations have been quite troubling. Roman resources have quickly become sapped up handling large amounts of moving peoples and hostilities are constantly on the verge of breaking out. To add onto this, civil unrest due to corruption, economic hardship, social, political and military decay has hit the Western court hard.

In the East, a different story is taking place. Though faced with large Barbarian migrations (That are often times rerouted to the West), the Eastern Court is not in as bad of a situation as the West. The Eastern Court however has its own set of unique issues. Political backstabbing and the constant bickering of power between the Eastern Emperor and Eastern Senate has hit a new high, all at the same time Sasanian influence continues to expand in previously Roman dominated areas like Armenia have war fears at an all time high.

Last but not least, many great leaders of their people have taken the mantel, but the true question is: Who will come out on top of it all?
