Step-by-step guide

Download:

1. Create a new directory where you want Q3 installed and inside it create /baseq3/ directory where you put pak0.pk3

2. C:\Quake III Arena\baseq3\pak0.pk3

3. Run Point Release 1.32 and direct it to your Q3 directory

4. Put /cpma/ directory in your Q3 one

5. Put z-cpma-pak148.pk3 in Quake III Arena/cpma/

Note: some servers might not allow it, just rename it or move out of /cpma/ directory if you want to downgrade CPMA.

6. Put all maps that you have inside /baseq3/ directory

7. Create q3key (no extension) file in your /baseq3/ directory and enter your CD key there

8. Put config files in /cpma/cfg/

You're done!

Note: whenever you apply some changes in-game, use /writeconfig q3config command to make sure they’re saved.

It is recommended that you download Mumble for communication:

Helpful commands:

/writeconfig q3config - saves changes in-game
/r_mode 0 - resolution and color depth are the same as desktop
/vid_restart - use this every time you change a video setting
/m_speed x - mouse sensitivity
/name x - username

If you are having trouble with your resolution, try:
/r_mode 1
/r_width "horizontal resolution" and r_customWidth "horizontal resolution"
/r_height "vertical resolution" and r_customHeight "vertical resolution"
