Or for those challenged enough that can't find it inside the "Help" menu on top, there's always the direct link for the Steam's "Support".
The next time perhaps bookmarking it might be of better use than this sour ranting excuse of a thread.
Thank you once again for taking time!!! respect

If you LEAVE Steam guard app enable on your account, you will be required to keeping the app on your mobile device to get access to the app to approve the login, or to display 2FA code to you. So if you forget to remove this, and deleted the app, or lost/sold your device with the app, that be why it's asking for confirm login via app, or 2FA code, because you didn't switch it back to STANDARD Steam guard which is EMAIL 2FA. The ONLY way to removing Steam guard app is either use RECOVERY code that app provided that why gave you RED banner with WORDS WRITE IT DOWN as it wasn't joking as that point of recovery incase you screw up, or you have to contact Steam support suing help page for can't login, YOU choose NO to all options, no to email, no to phone number, you be at the form to fill out, and explain your issue, and they ask for PROOF of ownership, which afterward they remove Steam guard app off the account once verify.
Now for getting HACKED it's actually HIJACKED, this can happen in few ways.
A) You login via scam site pretenting to be steam.
- Hi please vote for my team *gives you link*
- Hi you won prize, or I invited you to play test / beta, or I gifted you something. *gives you a link*
- You have pending ban, need contact admin, or whatever story may be, try using scary looking fake screenshot / gif / videos to try trick you. *gives you a link*
- Got email from scammer alter email address look close like steam, or if you're using Microsoft Outlook therea a problem scammers can alter it to look like Steam email address.
- There issue with emails, and Discord where they can MASK the URL displayed to you in message but redirects you to somewhere else such as their scam site.
B) You're downloading ARRR stuff, or random things from people, or so on, that happen to have a virus that steals your login token, and much more on your system, such as banking, credit card, emails, list goes on.
- You may get message via Email, or even on discord for example someone trying send you files, saying try my demo, or try this app, and so on.
C) You're sharing your account which they may fall for A) or B) themselves which why you could've been in this mess.
What do you mean GOT? You mean you MADE it yourself, or GOT it from someone? There big differences importance, because if you GOT it from someone, that person MAY be able to RECOVER the account from you at any point & time claiming proof of ownership such as OG email, keys used in the past, credit card used, and so on hence why it's a big difference.
Or maybe that's the reason i can't get my reset password back...????
For me it's beyond belief...to see the thief, see where they moved your arcana, and as a such security full platform as Steam to have no way to get them back!? even responded to full codes on sms and e-mails
So no idea where getting this app wanted you to try shoorter, and leaving review from.
Yes steam doesn't allow people to be selling, renting, or sharing account as it's in their TOS, and they have the right to take action if they wanted to such as locking the account, or even termination.
And yes if auto system telling you to use recovery code remove steam guard app off account, that what you do, and if you happen to NOT save that code for some reason, that why you CONTACT support themselves.
Again I explain if don't have recovery code to removing steam guard app off your account.
1. Go to steam on a browser while not login via broswer this can be done via Google Chome, Firefox, or etc...
2, On Steam login page, choose HELP can't sign in, and when search for your account, choose I deleted or lost my Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator, then click NO to all questions, just do it, you have a form to fill out, which you explain the issue, and they ask for proof of ownership.
3. Once get account back, you can login as normal, unless they reset your password, sending you email which you have to make new password.
Hope this is help.
As of recently months ago, Steam added safety net which ATM for CS2 game when you trade items, you have 7 DAYS on the dot of time of second you traded, issue trade revoke which returns your itesm, but you be trade, and market restricted for a month if I remember correctly. Again this has nothing to do with 3rd party games, and Steam support isn't going to help with them.
install steam guard again, disable it, enable steam guard through e-mail or sms only, not the app
