Casual player looking to play with friends, kill monsters, and get strong? This game's party system allows for that; you can join dungeons your friend found through chat.

Build theorycrafting player looking to build a strong set? Check. Multiple abilities scale with respect to a certain stat (att, wis, vit, etc.) and you can build enchantments to focus on that stat itself. You can build sets to clear minions fast, speedy sets to find/rush dungeons quicker, or dps sets to kill bosses quickly. Up to you!

Looking for a game that keeps you at the edge of your seat? Absolutely. Multiple endgame dungeons (Shatters, Moonlight Village, Oryx 3) will have you dodging for your life until the very end.

Want to push the envelope on what's possible and fully master dungeons? RotMG allows for this; there's secret bosses in Moonlight Village (and a true secret mode). You'll discover the high-velocity gameplay that's common throughout RotMG can be controlled; once you understand boss shot behaviors, you only need to react accordingly. The multiplayer aspect of the game allows you to watch and learn from other skilled players and how they react to boss patterns.

Want to build a character from scratch and only use items you drop? Sure! This is also known as a pet player experience (PPE). Every drop feels rewarding and you'll learn to maximize every drop you get as you grow stronger. This is the mode I personally play; all of my characters are a brand new experience based on equipment and enchantments that I happen to obtain in my journey.

Feeling like you just want to hop on and chat with people? Absolutely.

RotMG seems like a simple game: dodge and don't die. But you will soon learn this game is extremely deep; you'll need to learn boss behaviors and react accordingly. Even when you think you are decent, you'll still be finding better and more efficient ways to deal with situations. If you want to spend hours learning and developing skills, dodging for your life, and getting cool loot, this is the game for you.

I've played this game for 11 years and have watched the metagame grow under DECA's leadership. Sure, the other reviews' complaints about the game are valid. But RotMG is in a better state than ever. I hope you try it out!
