not sure if this is just me or its the same for others but iv been troubleshooting a bit of an fps issue within dontstarve.

iv found that when i enable this mod, my fps in game tanks to 30-35 fps. when i disable it, i get a constant 60fps. Not sure if this is normal or as i said, just me.

my pc is not the greatest but its decent: i5 650 - 12gbRAM - GTX 650

as i said, with those specs i am able to get 60 constant without the mod enabled.

Same thing happens to me but only when i'm playing the shipwrecked dlc.

I've tried disabling all my other mods and it makes the fps go back up to 60.
I've also tried slowly enabling all of my mods to see if one of them is causing trouble, but my fps slowly dropped as I enabled them, so it seems that no single mod is interfering with minimap hud.

I don't know if the dude who made the mod is still active so we're just gonna have to disable it buddy ):
same here,impossible to play even with gtx 980 when this mod is on :) oh well..

Late reaction; I've been experiencing the same thing. I noticed a soon as I close the mini map my fps shoots back up. I've now configured the mod the not refresh the map as often (Under mods -> configure -> 'Update Throttling') and the fps drop is much less severe.

Same terrible fps with it open. But closed fps skyrockets back up. Decided to disable the mod entirely but now everytime I open my normal map my fps drops very high. So maybe its not the mod thats doing this bud something else?

If you close the map it FPS should go back to 60. when open it has to render the map and the world.

The issue is that the mod itself does very little (the entire mod is ~350 lines of code), and relies on a lot of black magic from Klei that I have no control over (almost all of the actual minimap code is in the C++ engine code). Basically, all this mod does differently than the normal game is set the minimap to visible while not on the map screen, so the problem most likely lies in the C++ minimap code (it probably isn't optimized for updating the map and rendering the game at the same time, because the normal game doesn't ever do that).

So, I'm not sure that I can do anything about this, and it would likely have to be fixed by Klei.

20-40 FPS. The more map is revealed the lower it gets. System hardware has no relevance here. It drags no matter what system you have

64GB DDR4 RAM @ 3.2 Ghz
i7-6700K overcloked to 4.4Ghz
GTX-1080 GPU also overclocked
