The One, Holy, Universal, and Apostolic Church comprises the whole of the practicing Body of Believers across all denominations of Christendom.
Each of us, as Believers, have our own approaches and views in life, as God intended. However, as Christians, regardless of our stances on the Holy Mysteries of the Gospel and theological disputes, we remain united in our goal to advance the Kingdom of God on this earth and have God use us to bring more people to Him.

The Bible says that we are called to be stewards with anything we have, and our talents, gifts, and assets can be used right now, as we are. (An example of this stewardship in Scripture can be found in the Book of Haggai, where God entrusted the Jewry to rebuild the Holy Temple, gave them all they needed to do it, and they stalled. This caused a massive drought and the sending of the Prophet Haggai to shake them out of complacency. It worked.)

This is the principle of Biblical Stewardship, that everything (tangible or otherwise) belongs to God and ultimately exists for the furtherance of His Will on this earth. Even mundane things, like your user pages on the Internet, will reflect back on Him if you choose to identify with and in Jesus as a Believer. Even the simplest of things, that cost nothing and require little time can, with a little creative work, be used positively to proclaim Truth. Non-Believers will see your profile and how you behave online and think "this guy's a Christian? If that's how they live, I DO/DON'T want a part in it."

An easy and fun way to exercise this principle of stewardship is to customize your Steam Profile with religious paraphernalia, iconography, and themes, all of which are appropriate for public viewing and depict God and the Faith positively. This Guide will enable you, as a Believer, to publicly profess your allegiance to the Cross in an easy series of creative expressions and steps.

Below are a few guide lines and risks you should avoid falling into when choosing to proclaim glory and honor to God through creative expression on a Steam Profile.

• As a Christian, no matter what your denomination is, you are an ambassador of both Christ and of the One Holy, Universal, and Apostolic Church. It is said that an Atheist can understand what a Christian is supposed to be better than a self-professed "progressive"
  "Christian" or "activist preacher," because he doesn't have to rationalize sin and work around obvious dicta in the Faith. He will see a Christian curse out someone or watch porn, or hate his neighbor instead of his neighbor's sin, and rightly deem him as evil, not because he believes or even thinks the action is bad, but because he sees your depravity and compares it to the standard he's been told a Christian is supposed to meet. That's one soul that may never find Jesus because of your choices. What you say, do, and act on Steam, like anywhere else, matters. If you purport to be a Christian, yet entertain pornography, obscenity, and depravity in your choice of games or media, you will be watched by unbelievers and judged according to the standard by which you degraded yourself to be in. By putting Christian imagery and themes on your Profile, you are publicly stating you believe in Jesus and are a part of the Body of Believers. You must, therefore, understand that how you conduct yourself WILL reflect back on how the lost souls see God.

• Beware of depicting the disfigurement of God, Jesus, and Biblical figures. This speaks for itself. The deliberate modifying of pictures that have been edited to look "metal" or like horror movie screenshots does not please God. Common examples of this include the Virgin Mary and/or the Christ-Child with bleeding eyes, gunshots or flames through an icthys ("Jesus Fish") sticker, deliberate vandalism or destruction of images of crosses or Biblical figures, Jesus as a zombie, or pictures of churches set ablaze. These are completely inappropriate and extremely disrespectful. These do not honor God and will signal to a would-be viewer the exact opposite of any benevolent, God-fearing intent you claim to possess.

• The holiness of God and sin never mix. Don't proclaim that Christ is King and follow it up with proclamations of sexual obscenity and depravity, or with swears and hatred for sinners as opposed to hatred for sin. This not only betrays who your true father really is, it makes those who are not Believers deem you, and Christians, to be hypocrites and liars, which reflects directly back onto God.

• Do not be a stumbling block to others! Conduct your business on Steam honorably and ensure Christlike behavior matches the time you took to post images of Jesus on your profile pages. Anyone can do that, but it is much harder to act it out.

• Hate the sin, not the sinner. If your page proclaims Scriptural truths against evil and popular sins of the day (everything from greed to envy to "beloved" sexual sins like fornication, cohabitation, and sodomy), word it in such a way that clearly establishes that you do no hate sinners as human beings, but hate that which they do. To hate sin is to honor God: God is wrathful and disgusted by sin, He desires its purging. To say God hates sin is fact. However, God loves those who sin- EVERYONE -and desires all men to be Saved. This means God hates what they do, not who they are as people. When Jesus said to love your neighbor, He didn't mean to excuse or accept their sinful actions. He meant to love them as human beings, just as He did, even when human beings killed Him.

Either select an image that is reflective of Christian values and Truth or otherwise is a family-friendly and appropriate image that would not sully your reputation as a Believer and Ambassador of Christ. This could be a simple image of a cross, Biblical characters and patriarchs, a picture of a church, a Biblical scene, and so on.
Generally, one cannot go wrong when picking from the three main and universal symbols of the Faith: the Icthys ("Jesus Fish"), the Cross, or the Chi-Roh.

Ensure that your picture honors both God, the subject of the image in question (if you chose a Biblical figure or image of Jesus), and makes those who view it think positively of God.

FUN TRIVIA: Why do Christians depict images of God and Biblical characters? Why do we not see this is as idolatry, like Muslims do for their god?

ANSWER:
The Seventh Ecumenical Council of 787 AD was the final Ecumenical Council universally recognized by all mainstream Christians (Catholics AND Protestants AND Orthodox) as authoritative in matters of doctrine. It was determined there that depicting Jesus Christ and Biblical figures was not idolatry (as Muslims and Iconoclasts claimed) and stated that posting pictures of Biblical figures in churches, homes, and so on was both a honorable and principled practice to remind us of, and celebrate, the events of Scripture and those who came before us in the Faith.

From the iconography of an Orthodox Church to cartoon murals of the Christ on a Protestant chapel's children's hall, God delights in beautiful depictions of Him, of those who served Him, and of the great men and women of Scripture that obeyed and loved Him. By promoting images (or even making images) of Biblical figures yourself, you are continuing a heritage of the Faith dating back to the earliest periods of the Church. Ensure that you do so honorably and respectfully.

Set your privacy settings to control who can view your profile information. You may wish to limit access to friends only or to those you approve to ensure a safe and respectful environment. However you won't be able to display your faith to the wider public.

If you set your profile to be public, be weary of trolls and double minded people who simply wish to be agent provocateurs. For annoying commentators and trolls, the deletion button is your friend.

While you go about editing your profile, it is best to set thing private as you adjust items around before setting things public again to ensure no unwanted comments or mistakes being made visible.

Crop the gifs into 5 separate parts by creating the width to 150 pixels wide and cutting it at increments of 0, 150, 300, 450, 600, make sure you use the image magick and not gifscicle when converting.

If you have a blacked out steam profile, now is the time to greyscale your output, and put a 1 pixel wide white border for definition

You may need to optimise the gif if the output is higher than 14mb. To do so you can skip frames by cutting out every 4th or 3rd frame, then optimising using Lossy Gif compression. Make sure your output is lower than 5mb.
