I believe in one God, Father Almighty.
By Saint Spyridon ☦
I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through Whom all things were made.
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom shall have no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets.
In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the age to come.
Amen.

I'd like to think I genuinely act as if he is King in my heart. But sometimes I turn away due to bad habits. I pray that he delivers me from temptation, and I try to pray each morning in gratitude and forgiveness. I can't help but feel desire that of flesh daily, and sometimes the flesh wins. Pray for me.

To truly understand Christ's Kingship is to embrace the paradox of His reign. He is King, not through worldly might, but through self-emptying love. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us (2 Corinthians 5:21). A king who willingly descends to the lowest depths for the salvation of His people – a King unlike any other.

Tell me, @William Henry Harrison, how does this Kingship manifest itself in your daily life? Do you strive to emulate His humility, His compassion, His unwavering devotion to truth? For the Kingdom of Christ is not merely a theological concept; it is a lived reality, a constant striving towards the divine image within us all.

Interesting. A bold declaration, @William Henry Harrison, and a profoundly true one. But do you simply state Christ is King, or do you live as though He reigns in your heart, and through you, in this world?

It is easy to utter the words, to acknowledge the sovereignty of our Lord. Yet the true test of faith lies not in proclamation alone, but in metanoia – a turning of the heart, a transformation of the very self.

We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen (2 Corinthians 5:17). The world, steeped in its ephemeral concerns, often cannot perceive the Kingship of Christ. They chase shadows, mistaking fleeting power for genuine authority. But we, followers of the ancient faith, know better. We know the Kingdom is within (Luke 17:21), forged in humility, sustained by prayer, and revealed through love.
