Cry of Fear - Ambience

This mod replaces several default L4D2 ambient tracks with tracks from Cry of Fear.
(114 tracks to be exact.)

Several sounds have been adjusted, modified, and mixed to provide the best ambient feeling from Cry of Fear, made not too obvious, but not too quiet. From crickets, rain, lakes, cities and more, (almost) all can be experienced in that gucci GoldSource quality from Andreas Rönnberg's crusty mobile phone from 2009.

Whether you're an avid fan of Cry of Fear, or if you just enjoy the classic environment sounds from early 2000's horror games, then these ambient sounds may be right up your alley.


I would say this pairs well with the Cry of Fear Music Mod. Very atmospheric in my opinion.

If you're not satisfied or impressed, then may I recommend Enhanced Audio for a more modern take?


(IMPORTANT: If you experience any type of audio issue, please type 'snd_updateaudiocache' in console. I've matched every audio file length to vanilla and sometimes it'll still just act funny. No Mercy's ambient track was originally the biggest offender in this case, but I've cleared it up.
If you can somehow name the specific ambient track being played at a certain part of the campaign, let me know if so I can mark down any issues that may need to be fixed. I'll try my best at least.)

More will eventually be added. It's not a perfect project, but I'll try my best to fix it up if need be.
