Helpful Information:
Here are a few tips from my many ventures into DH's:
  • If entering DHs during the day time you will encounter many Volatiles inside (4 to 10) and also plenty of Virals. Special Infected (Spitters, Howlers and Bombers) numbers do not change however, their number is tied to a few specific DHs.

  • I dont recommend only farming Loot from only one DH as different DH's have different layouts, for example, One DH might be much easier to traverse, but it might have less chests than another.
You should explore many in order to memorise their layouts and also find preferred farming spots.

  • Not that a few DH's have crystal charms (Located on a dead survivor's body) in hidden locations that sell for a lot of money. These are different to the breakable crystal growths that you will find in the GRE Labs and most DHs.
The Sell value (On Normal Mode) is as follows:
    Orange Crystal Core = $1000
    Violet Crystal Core = $800
    Crystal Jewellery = $650
Yellow Tier Loot (Smartphone, Old World Wine and Morphine) = $600
Crystal Dust = $500 (Found from already looted GRE Containers instead of Inhibitors)
    Blue Crystal Statuette = $400
Purple Tier Loot (Walkie Talkie, Perfume, Old World Whiskey, Old World Manual, Inhaler and MRE Rations) = $200

  • The best items to find in DHs are the following:
-Inhibitor Chests (Remember to revisit these to get Crystal Dust)
-Breakable Crystal growths (Provide you with a random rarity crystal core)
-Hard lockpick chests (In locked rooms)
-Special Infected (Goons, Spitters and sometimes a Demolisher
-Safes containing money (Medium lockpick difficulty)

  • Entering the DH through the roof entrance (Normally via a large green container) is the fastest way to get inside and acquire loot efficiently, HOWEVER a few DHs will require you to enter from the ground floor as the upstairs entrance will be locked from the inside.

  • During the night time, a few DHs will occassionally spawn a Volatile nest random event. You can tell if the DH has a volatile nest inside if there is a blue pointed Icon with a Volatile's Face instead of the regular Circular Purple DH Icon. These are uncommon and also a great source of extra loot, mutagen samples and XP/ LP. However it goes without saying that they will be difficult to complete due to there being a large number of Volatiles guarding the nest, which itself will be in a very tricky to reach area of the DH.

  • Some DHs contain Renegades instead of infected, you can quickly tell if the DH contains Renegades or Bandits by the faint UV glow once you enter. (You should also be able to hear them talking and use instinct to see their Red and Green outlines) a good tip to help you clear the renegades is to turn off their UV Light Generator, this will cause Virals to spawn in and infight with the Bandits!
