After over 300 hours of gameplay, I can say this: Over two years of supporting the game, Criterion, in my opinion, has managed to satisfy the desires of players (especially longtime fans). Let's start with the updates from the Year 2 Roadmap.

Vol.06
The update brought back the Audi S5 and R8, along with the addition of the RS6 Avant. Apart from the new cars and some QoL updates, there wasn't much else in this update.

Vol.07
This is where Criterion's plan starts to unfold — nods to older Need for Speed titles. In this update, we got the M3 Touring and the paid Mustang Dark Horse. Drag racing returned after six years (last seen in Payback), and drifting was improved in a style reminiscent of Underground.

Vol.08*
This update paid homage to Hot Pursuit (2010). It introduced the Lotus Evija and Porsche 959 S. The highlight of this update was the pursuit mode. For the first time, without mods, players could take the wheel of police cars. These vehicles featured liveries inspired by the manufacturing countries:
- Crown Victoria and Colorado ZR2: Standard black livery typical to California
- Range Rover (and the new 911 GTS in the UK style): A white base with bright yellow and dark blue wide checkered stripes on the sides.
- Skyline GTR V-Spec 1999: White upper half, black lower half, with Japanese lettering on the doors.
- Porsche 959: White base with a green hood, doors, and spoiler, along with classic "Polizei" decals.

Vol.09
The final update for Unbound feels more substantial compared to previous ones. The standout feature is the entirely new mode, Lockdown, which lets players earn boss cars from Most Wanted (2005) and, for the first time, ride a motorcycle. The new cars include the Integra DC2 R and the Impreza WRX STi 22B. As a fan of classic cars, I think adding these was a great decision. The Speed Pass also introduced custom kits for the Cop Garage, offering free Undercover-style kits for each car (except the Crown Victoria and 959 S). Unfortunately, this time there wasn't a free, legendary Criterion body kit at the final level.

---

Conclusion:
After two years of updates, Unbound feels much better than it did initially. If you're not willing to pay for customization or new cars, I recommend installing the Unbound Remix or UNITE mods, which further enhance QoL. Since Payback, the car roster has expanded significantly (not counting the Polestar 1, which debuted in Heat), the second-generation Eclipse GSX has returned (last seen in Underground 2), and for the first time, the Crown Victoria is a playable vehicle.

Customization has improved, with some very unique body kits for certain cars. Unfortunately, the storyline remains dull — there’s barely any story to speak of. The graphics have improved compared to Payback and Heat (though still falling short of NFS 2015), and the game has become more demanding. However, the pursuit system feels lackluster. Chases aren’t challenging; they’re just tedious and annoying.

Final Conclusion:
This game is worth buying, at least for the multiplayer mode. Online, you can enjoy the new Lockdown, Hot Pursuit, Drift, and Drag modes. The single-player campaign is decent, featuring a day-night cycle, increasing stakes mid-week, the chance to win cars, and the Lake Shore Grand qualification at the week's end. However, once the campaign is over, there’s little reason to stick around (unless you're taking photos of cars or the environment at specific times of day). Overall, it’s a great pick, especially during a sale.

It's been 10 years since the game came out, and it still manages to scare me. Just thinking about the Alien lurking somewhere nearby makes me tremble. The graphics were incredibly realistic for 2014, and they still hold up well even today. The solar system outside the station is a testament to the game's engine, Cathode. The "Survival Horror" direction of the game is very well executed. You truly have to survive in this game. There's no sprinting - if the Alien spots you, you're dead. So it's all about stealth. On top of surviving the other inhabitants of the station, you'll have to craft tools from junk. The length of the horror was perfect for me. My full playthrough on normal difficulty took 17 hours, and I finished the game in 19 days. The solitary storyline follows our attempts to escape the station, encountering friendly survivors along the way, but ultimately it all turns out to be in vain. Only we survive, even though we just wanted to grab what was rightfully ours and return to our ship without any adventures.

In conclusion, Alien Isolation is one of the few horror games that can still induce panic and fear in our time. We need more high-quality horror games like this in the modern era.
