This is one of the most fun "quick fun" pvp games I've ever played. Every round has a natural pacing, going from slow standoffs in tight corridors, to fast brutal deathruns to the finish. And it's filled with so many turnabout moments where you think you've almost won only to go back 3 screens.

I love the way the combat mechanics are handled. The sword feels deadly and indeed, even jumping onto someone with the sword will kill you instantly. You can move the sword between high, neutral and low guard to block where the other person is moving their blade or aim your blade into an opening. You can even quickly push their sword up or down to knock it out of their hand. Some of the best moments come when one player DOESN'T have a sword however. Without one, you're extremely vulnerable and the dynamics change quickly. You either need to run, pick up a sword or attempt a risky disarm. It's moments when been swordless, tried to run and my opponent threw his sword at me only for it to hit the environment and land between us leading to the most desperate scramble to pick up a sword ever seen that make this game worth it.

Pros: fantastic fast-paced risk vs. reward gameplay, naturally paced battles, interesting stages with unique gimmicks.
Cons: Hit detection/netcode is off over the net so best for LANs, sometimes you'll clearly die but no, it was your opponent who died. Content is a little sparse but what's there is very polished!

Please this game a shot, it's fun!

PS: when disarmed, aerial attack. Trust me.
