Recommended if you like being horny and sad

Soooo...this is what happens when sweet pool and NO THANK YOU!!! get real drunk one night and make a baby. If you like either or both of those games, you'll probably like this one too. If you haven't played them and don't want even vague spoilers for those games, stop reading now.

Lkyt. has piles of gore, very raunchy sex, and a healthy dose of body horror. It has no particularly happy endings, so eject that out of your mind right now. It's not quite as gnarly as sweet pool's endings (my fave sweet pool ending is Ultra Meat Carnival Deluxe, but Butt Babies Forever is also a good one). In terms of story structure it's very similar to NO THANK YOU!! (makes sense considering it's the same developer) but with fewer choices to make. Anyway the fewer choices is fine, it just means I don't have to look up a guide to get all the endings. And yes, all the endings are messed up, the "good" ones are just....uhhh the deaths are nicer? Very much like NO THANK YOU!!! and sweet pool. Like I already said.

The main character Tasuku is kind of, relentlessly, insanely sincere which is a nice change? He always asks for consent, in stark contrast with Haru from NO THANK YOU!!! (or like, most yaoi games) so despite all the horrific violence there isn't any rape. Sure sometimes the consent is unenthusiastic at best, but it's there. There's also a lot of weirdly deep sidebars about loyalty and despair and death and stuff. The world building is really solid, with a really smooth exposition buildup, which really makes the difference between "bad" endings and "good" endings.

All the love interests, err romance options, errr uhhh...doable characters are well fleshed out with interiority and stuff. I mean, character-wise in addition to anally lol. Also, really good voice acting, which is very important imo. Also also, you can save your favorite voice lines to listen to whenever. Are all mine just Yael moaning? Only my computer and I know.

Well, it's not the most lighthearted game ever but by Nitro+Chiral standards it's downright cheerful. Only a few of the endings are spectacularly gory! The plot isn't a totally harrowing saga! I laughed, I cried! (no, literally). Stellar voice acting, art, and music. Cons would be it's still a Nitro+Chiral game so there's a certain amount of turning over rocks and regretting finding out what's underneath, so just know what you're getting into.

Okay, so. First off, this game is definitely not for everyone. The main character (Haru) is objectively a bad person. There isn't any romance and the "good" endings mostly involve the right people not dying. There's a lot of what could be called dubious consent at best, and the sex scenes are just absolutely filthy. It's the thirstiest, raunchiest BL game I've ever played, and I've been shamelessly burning my way through a bunch of them.

That said, I love the ♥♥♥♥ out of NO, THANK YOU!!!

As you progress through the various routes (I'd recommend Hiroyuki > Maki > Ryu > Kouichi) various bits of the story are unlocked. You realize that Haru is an extremely unreliable narrator, and you figure out what exactly he's doing messing around with all these people. And yeah, it gets more disturbing as you go, but I'm a weirdo and like that kind of thing, so all good for me. Also, while Haru is surrounded by a cloud of bad circumstances, he's still really positive and appreciative of the things he gets to experience, so he ends up being really likable! Despite being a very bad person. Somehow. [Review update, years later: completing each route unlocks bonus stuff, so it's worth playing at least one route an extra time. Just, you know, for completion's sake. I already knew this but forgot to mention it? Uh, sorry.]

All the story beats are the same, but each route adds a different twist. Don't worry too much about the NO, THANK YOU flags--just save at those points and go back later when you hit an ending. It's worth it to see every option, and if you fret about repetition, well, that's what the skip button is for. Oh, also check out the "Character Options" page in the settings--you can set an individual's body hair (lol) and adjust their voice levels both in and out of sex (I'm looking at you, character who moans even more than I do...).

So yeah, I find this game very satisfying and I'm pleased that I could pay real money for a legal copy after um, acquiring it a long time ago. It fell off the back of a truck, I swear!

First off: while I like this game, I would STRONGLY recommend anyone who has issues with suicide to avoid it.

This is definitely a weird and upsetting game, up there with Sweet Pool and NO, THANK YOU!! though it's neither gory as the former nor raunchy as the latter. Its strength lies in the narrative, with really deep dives into the nature of friendship, the way choices affect the future, and classic Japanese literature (I think, I have no real knowledge of the topic).

The choice thing is interesting, since each romance requires a full run-through to unlock the next one, and there's very little player input. Instead the protagonist has to try things over and over which forces him into a lot of self-examination, exploration of feelings, and general trying to figure out just what the heck is going on. It's pretty great.

In terms of aesthetics: the voice acting is great, the music is great. The artwork is pretty mediocre and sparse and the sex scenes are especially badly drawn, which is a bit baffling. But hey, no game is perfect!

So in summary: if you like BL horror games then you'll probably like this one too.

This game is like looking under rocks just to see what's there, even though what's there is usually those gross red spiders with white abdomens that look like pustules with legs. Don't forget to buy the patch!

I hated the plot, it could have been excellent but went straight for the most idiotic permutation possible. There is no way highly trained scientists sent on a difficult space mission would act THAT STUPIDLY.

good puzzles though.
