For third person in L4D2:
1. start any game compaign
2. go options > controls > enable console
3. press "~" to open console
4. enter this:
bind "f5" thirdpersonshoulderaimdist 240 and press "Enter"
5. hit F5 twice for third person view
6. now the key binding is active for all game sessions on current PC but need to configure it again after installing on new PC. :Deer:
