I really want to like this game but it's weird to get into. I just can't shake the feeling that there's like 1/3rd of the game missing for some reason? It's bizarre. Gives me the unsettling sensation that I'm paying for stuff that's just been deleted or something. I mean no company would do that, though - Just remove stuff entirely and make it completely inaccessible to anybody in the future. That's absurd.

Either way though.

So it's been another two weeks (almost 3 weeks from launch) and it seems like a lot of the problems have been addressed and most people can actually play the game that they paid for, which is awesome. The difficulty is fair, the weapons are great, the stratagems are amazing, and the democracy is nearly too much to contain. Shoot everything and try to resist the temptation to nuke your friends.

The game can be SO FUN, but it's also a buggy piece of ♥♥♥♥ that shouldn't have been released for another month or two at best.

Losing save progress, HUD issues that make it unplayable, weird gameplay problems like being unable to sprint or use primary weaponry that completely ruin the experience, etc. I realize I'm probably an idiot in this day and age for expecting it from a large publisher, but the lack of polish on this thing is abysmal. Maybe they'll fix it in the next few weeks, maybe they'll just pull a Sony and let it sit for a year. Who knows.

RE3 was my favorite of the franchise, probably because it came up right when my interest in videogames was exploding, and it's without reservation that say I've been waiting for an RE3 remake since they first redid RE1.

It's a beautiful game with pretty fantastic set pieces, but... well that's about it. With all the cut content from the original, the lack of choices, the garbage AI, Nemesis being reduced to a prop instead of a consistent threat, etc, I've been finding myself more and more disgruntled with this clearly half-assed product they pumped out to make more of that REmake cash. Your *first* time through this game won't take any longer than 6 hours of game time, tops, and there's zero replay value present aside from farming 'records,' in order to get bonus points to buy neat little things at the bonus shop. My current major gripe as I replay the game a second time is how the enemies are just so... cheap. There's not really another word for it. Dodge/Charge mechanics are present, sure, but the number of times I just got ganked in tight quarters despite all efforts - and in a few places insta-killed by what seem to be lock-on attacks by the few mid-tier monsters the game bothered to port over (There is *very* little enemy diversity) - just chaps my ass pretty raw. I wanted to love this game and I was ready to accept a different vision from the original just to see it in glorious updated graphics, but what I got was something that could've been released as RE2 DLC. I fully believe Capcom didn't take the time or energy that was needed to make this something really great and it shows. That's just a damn shame.

My one wish is that I could refund this thing.

Play the game.

Feel your worries melt away.

I'm writing this review so I can get the last task done for a Steam Event.

Still a good game, though.
