I'll clarify that I never got into Comp for the main reason of never having time to dedicate towards it, let alone find a team which could do the same. (Especially as a Sniper main, since 6's. Y'kno, generally yeets out anyone who isn't Scout, Demo, Soldier, Medic). Further, that I'm mainly a trader, so I'm not as deep in the Comp community, with the most I've done being 2 community tournaments, and like 1 or 2 TF2PL matches when it first started.

I have tried/continue to try to keep up to date with general TF2 information and the community as much as I personally can, I could certainly be incorrect on what I said in regards to how Comp players felt. I never saw/heard any posts on the Subreddit let alone any talks within Trade servers regarding Comp players.

I can see why Pro people would have been turned off by MyM. Especially Prolander/HL players. I don't think it outright killed the Comp scene, since there are still tournaments/comp players today, but maybe not as many as before.
