Soviet movie adaptation of Sherlock Holmes was the best. :books:

Yeah, it was great. Although the ending gave me the impression thet there will be no more SH games. I hope they make more. As much as I love these games, they are hard to replay because I have a very good memory.

I've played it! (On XBox!) I really liked it too! Quite a change from the usual pace of games!

I just beat Testament of Sherlock Holmes. I loved it. Has anyone else played it?

If you love Sherlock Holmes, you will LOVE the Tex Murphy games! They are great detective games set in the 2040s in San Francisco, and they have exciting noir mystery stories, interesting characters, great acting, fun adventuring, and a nice dash of humor. All five of the old Tex Murphy games are on GOG.com . There is also a Kickstarter project for the game that will be a modern sequel to the last Tex Murphy game (made in 1998). The Kickstarter ends on Friday, June 15 at 11:51 PM MDT, which is in less than 44 hours!

@kingofpop105 Well. There are only so many games... The only drawback is that when you solve the mystery, it is no longer a mystery.

I didn't expect to find a group for Sherlock Holmes here. I'm still relativly new to Steam and could use a few more friends to play games with, if you'd care to talk feel free :D

The Robert Downey jr. Sherlock Holmes movie is easier to enjoy if you just think of it as an interpretation. It's just like the Lord of The Rings movie versus the books. Completely different. It is also like Batman where you have the Jack Nicholson Joker Versus the Heath Ledger Joker. Then there is the comic Joker, animated series Joker and the 1960's tv Joker. Five different Jokers, but still easy to enjoy if you keep an open mind.

I think the movie was great action movie, but I don't know the real Sherlock's book history. Just my opinion

The movie was possibly the worst modern adaptation of Holmes. Read the metacritic reviews of the critics and viewers. Action hero? Spy movie? And those are the high reviews! I watched it on DVD because I wouldn't dare spend money at the cinema for an obvious cashing in on the franchise but the family were watching it anyway and I stopped watching around the time that Watson punches Holmes which was so out of character and viewing up to that time was so ludicrous.

If you've finished the books and are looking for a TV adaptation of Holmes you'll find that Basil Rathbone or Jeremy Brett to be the most quintessential Holmes, the former in film noir while the latter in colour. Even less famous portrayals by Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee put on more of an effort than the movie.

If you want a spy movie I recommend watching James Bond films - you'll find he's more suave and has more gadgets than Holmes. Meanwhile if you want action heroes, I'm sure Marvel can appease your tastes.

I doubt the movie will be true to the characters and the books. Just another cheap attempt to cash in on a famous name.

Anyone here planning to see the new Sherlock Holmes movie?
