[Sorta Solved] Remote play suddenly stopped working.
EDIT: As an update, to anyone coming here. Some people have found that switching the client to Beta on the client side of the connection seems to have helped. An answer down below has been marked, you may try it. It is not working for everyone though. Steam Support has also informed me they're aware of the issue. Whatever that's worth.

ORIGINAL POST:

It worked fine earlier today. Like, as fine as it can, you know. It played. No issues with crashing.

Now whenever I go to connect on the client device, it will pop-up the loading screen with the spinning wheel at the bottom right of the screen, do that for like 5 seconds, then crash back to desktop on the client device.

The host device, even when launched from the client device, does actually open the game though. Once the game is running however, pressing "connect" on the client device, results in what I described above.

I have messed with literally every setting, so I don't know what's going on.

Tried turning hardware decoding on and off, tried changing resolutions on the host PC, tried disabling direct IP, tried turning hardware encoding on and off, tried turning on and off low network latency, tried literally all the options it feels like and a few combination options.

When I search online, it's just threads telling me to try things I've already done.

I'm running on Linux for both machines, if that matters, both host PC and client are up to date and it appears that they are all running the same versions of both Steam and the OS.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

Switching can be done via menu Steam > Settings > Interface > Client Beta Participation.

Would that be on the client or the host system?

Today the stream simply decided not to work
Having the exact same issue. Tried connecting with multiple different people and games, wouldn't work in any way, shape or form :(
Same issue here. Was thinking I was the only one. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
