With making the group invite only for the few people that really spam, you also exclude those 200 people that would be nice. And i think with a little effort it is possible to let good people in and keep the trash out.

You can control these also while the group is open to public. And if spam really starts you can still put it back invite only, but to contact an admin every single time a friend wants to join a group is one reason the member count of this group diddnt increase at all.
Bet there was lots of people trying to join the group but got hindered from that invite only.

I mean i have no problemo with it, but its not good for community as the group could have easily 100-200 more people.

Just my point :) L4D2 community is playing against each others for years due to all that invite.
Its like a small scene family that doesnt allow new players to connect, and thats why we all played 342523 times against the same people while L4D2 is still one of the most played Steamgames and i bet people would love to join here and have somewhat games that are way more fun then getting frustrated on publics due to massive rage and skill imbalance.

Is there a certain skill requirement for joining mixes as this is one of the reasons why i have been holding back joining a mix?

Unfortunately, yes. As the group is pretty strict on keeping spammers and such out.
Feel free to ask them to invite a player, we usually have no problems with that unless the player has been warned countless times.

It might surprise you dear human, but there's actually players out there that would like a serious game instead of a trollfest.
No one likes spam/useless announcements either, except for "those" kind of people of course. (Le trolls)

I'm not trying to be an internet-tough-guy, I just want people to be able to enjoy a game. It's sad that it requires me to be strict in order to achieve that. Maybe the community will mature on its own someday.
