In a zombie apocalypse...

Would you rather live in rural Texas for the protection of the desert and guns, or a medieval castle in rural Wales for the protection of the castle defences, and armour?

I'd say Wales. As much as I'd like the guns for protection, the armour would give almost complete protection against bites, and you could always travel to some random farm for a shotgun/rifle. Also I'd look like a badass defending a castle against zombies, plus there would be space for livestock and other people. Another bonus would be (if the castle is near water) fishing, which could feed several people.

I would probly die but both have downsides 1 is food. Guns have a drawback also ammo and loud so depends on zombie type if its rage ones or worse dying light ones when i rather have a bow even if gun s are great and all but rather deal with a small group over a horde attracted by the sound. but the issue is both have limited resources of food. Castle has the safety but you are unlikely to be able to secure it alone and rural its open space where you also dont have advantage for its open. If i had a group castle and someone to make arrows and if alone texas

Sure castles are gangster.

However, castles can be build easier then building guns and ammo.
The weather in Texas will also make tissue decay faster.
Never been to Texas but, afaik, it has plenty of open space meaning threats are far easier to spot, keep at distance and maneuver around.
Empty space also allows for plenty of room for defenses.

Have you seen most castles in Wales? Most of them were never repaired after Cromwell, leaving them in a pretty ruined shape. I'd still choose Wales over western Texas, but it has more to do with easier access to water and better the fact you know the zombies would not be able to find firearms as easily assuming they have any though capacity to use them.

You may like the French castle Mont-Saint-Mitchel (unless the tide goes down and then you’re screwed)

Like it still comes down if its walking dead walkers most who can move faster than slow walk is probly gonna be fine. Dying light kind we are screwed the second the volitile comes. Dead island type would be at most a local issue

I prefer Wales because in Texas, you aren't worried about zombies but you'd be more worried about other trigger happy people trying to take your inventory and life.

Pfft, guns, castles. LAME. I choose Japan. Me and several anime girls will make our base in an abandoned school. It will be Gakkou Gurashi with a Zetsubou Sensei class.
