The final false world will be one we choose never to leave. Ah, I really enjoy that fantasy trope where the protagonist can no longer distinguish reality from a dream - like in Christopher Nolan’s film Inception, Dark city, or Philip K. Dk’s novel Ubik where a minor discrepancy or contradiction finally reveals the true, dramatic state of affairs - like the character being already dead, or the entire world existing within someone's subconscious.
