Are the mass necros an attempt to push a thread off the first page?
Title. This is known as thread "sliding" elsewhere. A variant / parallel aspect of the broader "astroturfing". Just adds noise and if enough people engage, the unwanted topics drift into the background.

Like, notice they're always poop themed. This is part of making a forum gross and "unappealing to its users".

You seem to be missing the point, Dark Crystal. That's about the same as "vote with your wallet". No one should engage but enough will that it doesn't matter what I do. This is why we lose.

happens frequently, the person resurrects any thread not locked, then spams creates more "poop" threads, or random nonsense threads, loads another alt, spams all the threads recently made repeatedly, flooding the front page.

along with resurrecting old unrelated threads, for no reason.

then the alt gets banned, while the one they used to make the threads, is usually left unbanned.

seems its quite a few alt accounts doing this... may or may not be the same person... who knows, despite them all being the same accounts, just changing the names.

but sadly, moderation doesnt seem to stop it, despite it being the all the same accounts.

i just report it all and the profiles and let moderation do, or not do, their jobs...

but it does seem like the person(s), are trying to flood the front page, with nonsense and inappropriate topics.

That's exactly what you'd say to cover it up. Superficially quite believeable, easy answers. Weird thing happens? Don't look for a man behind the curtain, they must just be crazy.

I hope you get paid for this. I have to chuckle though, you probably do it for free.
