Smells Like Teen Spirit...Nirvana. Love it. Also the drums in Tom Sawyer by Rush always did it for me when I was a little kid.

Not hating on the song, but I'm genuinely curious about what part of it you're referring to? The verses with drums and bass only? I agree that's a cool beat.

As a general rule:

Drum solos should be rare and not indulgent.

Wow do they get annoying when they start showing off.

I have posted many times about my failed bands. One of the things that killed them was I wanted to GO FOR IT and not jam and annoy audiences with trying to show off our "technique"

No! Play music that they like!
