Feeling Laggy on 240Hz Even With G-Sync
Since I upgraded to a 240Hz monitor a few months ago, I've noticed that games running below 120fps feel kind of laggy, which is really frustrating. On my old 144Hz monitor, even when frame rates dropped below 100fps, everything still felt super smooth. Now, it sometimes feels like I'm seeing 60fps on screen. I have G-Sync enabled and V-Sync on in the Nvidia App, but it hasn't helped. In Cyberpunk 2077, for example, my frame rates fluctuate between 100fps and 200fps with ray tracing on. I've set a 120fps cap to keep the frame rate steady, but it still looks awful. I feel like buying a higher-refresh-rate monitor created a placebo effect, and there's no escaping it.

I just realized that G-Sync lowers the monitor's refresh rate when the fps drop. So if I have 100fps, do I suddenly get 100Hz? What crap.

I'll try, but first I got rid of the damn G-Sync. If I had known it lowers the monitor's refresh rate, I would have done it on day one.

Totally normal for many users i cannot play with any vrr below 120fps it feels laggy and off until i hit 120. VRR does not magically make lowish fps playable it simply stops stutter when out of sync with the monitor. So yes 100fps equals 100hz!

It's not the best monitor as the refresh gets lower and is aimed at a locked 240Hz gaming audience, it doesn't have a one setting overdrive also for when it gets down to 120Hz so that has effect.
Here is a review of the monitor might shed a bit of light on it for you.

it not bad for tn panel

its input lag is 13ms using vrr when down to 60hz
higher than it should be, but as long as its below 16ms it would not be noticeable

might just be your perception, go back to the old display or test them side by side
