Mr Psymon, i think we and many understand Mr Newells moderation services are poor, at best.

The only thing we can hope for, is our various governments continuing to put pressure on the Gabester, to change tact.

And i feel it will happen :steamhappy:

your display of hope is inspiring

i sadly cannot share such optimism following so many years of neglect to the fourms, the moderation, and the state of the world generally...

1) Do Not Engage!!

2) Report the thread, post, or user

3) Block User

4) Move on and enjoy playing.

That is all you can do. Moderators ONLY work on reported Threads, Posts, Users....

hence the suggestion, as those 4 options you state are ineffective, and things need to be better

Agreed, i know some trolls who try to get others to spam other people, and some trolls who spam people's artwork. I know quite a few users on steam would enjoy seeing that person get a permanent ban.

It would be comedy gold.

Although its intresting how you always seem to be against threads to hold rule breakers under stricter standards and seem to not want to punish those who break the rules....

Consider the possibility of better moderation not yielding the results you expect.

Kind of like when a lot of people wanted the volunteers to be replaced by paid moderators, because then there was accountability and things would be "better". It doesn't seem like that ever came about.

They just have to keep evolving. As times change, more necessary changes are likely going to be needed.

Any company has to do that.

So, the volunteer moderators failed, and needed replacement. Maybe the company Mr Newell has contracted now needs replacement for another.

It has to keep evolving as the gaming community, political and legal realities change, so on and so forth.

And, remember, if you report the post and no action is taken, that is perfect proof that the behavior is not against the rules.

in other words, shut down 90% of the discussions here.

Once it's cleaned, maybe more people would come back and actually use these forums.

The few people engaging in discussions here stand in no relation to steam's overall huge user count. There's a reason why....
What should this better moderation do about intentional harassment on user artworks and the encouragement thereof?
competent people cost money to hire and there's no return for the expense, so they hire incompetent people instead.

Be careful what you wish for, OP, lest you see yourself at the pointy end when you would otherwise believe you shouldn't be
