For account security, browsing the store, accessing the forums, news.

Then there is a seperate chat text app for friends and that was also not designed nor intended for making audio calls.

Disinformation? I do not keep track of announcements by Valve from 6 years ago.

Hotsauce on the other hand tends to.

As for Valve's plans, still not implemented so maybe by 22 March 2027, 7 years later.

I don't hold out much hope. That was before covid and many things got sent to the less important to do list while hardware got pushed to the front. Some employees that had worked on the app even left Valve since then.

Maybe one day.
