Steam code error
I bought a MTG Final Fantasy deck that came with a code for the original FF VII. That code has to be registered with Square Enix which then provided a Steam code. When I entered the Steam code, it says that it isn't available in my region. The product was bought in Canada and both my Square Enix and Steam accounts are for Canada. Square Enix confirmed the code is for North America so they can't help. Is there any way I can fix this?

Only SE can assist with codes for their games.

Thanks. They won't help, though.

Unfortunately, no this can’t be fixed. Steam keys are region-locked to specific packages, and even if they’re labeled “North America,” they can still fail if the key’s package doesn’t match your Steam store region. Steam can’t override this, and changing region or using a VPN won’t work.

The only solution is for Square Enix (or the retailer) to replace the key with one that matches your Steam region or offer a refund. If they won’t, there’s no workaround on Steam’s side.
