CS2 Hit Registration Is Driving Me Crazy – Here Are My 1-Week Test Results
I've been playing CS2 for the last week specifically to test hit registration, and the results are… interesting.

Enemy is perfectly centered in the crosshair → 0 damage

Shoulder-peeking players sometimes don’t visually appear, yet their hitbox takes bullets

Spray pattern looks correct but after the 3rd–4th bullet, physics just stop existing

Damage occasionally registers late, like the server needs a second to think about it

I tested this on 64-tick, 128-tick, and with different ping values.
The issue seems to be a mix of position desync + animation mismatch.

Clearly a lot of players experience this, but Valve hasn't addressed it yet.
So here’s my question to the community:

Are we still playing a tactical FPS here, or did CS2 quietly become a luck-based game?

subtick cheaper option than 128tick, valve not willing to spend a lot of gambling/case money xD
