Steam spell check no longer working since last update ?
Basically steam spell check still highlights misspelled words with the red underline, but now when you right-click on the misspelled word to select a correction, and click on a option, nothing happens...

Just wondering if it's just me, or if others are seeing this too ? ?

It's been an issue since about June in the beta and they still didn't fix it by the time the mainline branch got its update 2 days ago.

So there's nothing we can do ? just have to wait for valve to fix it I guess ?

I noticed it yesterday that it wasn't working and was fine a few days ago. It's one of those things Valve will get to in their own time, we'll just have to keep ploddin' on until it gets fixed. Who know's maybe we'll get better at spelling while we wait. :lol:

turn the computer off for 5 minutes then turn it back on..... isnt that the answer to everything

I get the red underline, and the right click menu with the corrections, but selecting just doesn't do anything.

Yep 10 days now.
You'd think it would be a relatively easy thing to fix no ?
Guess they are waiting to roll it into the next feature update, rather than release a hotfix :steamsad:

Because there hasn't been any client updates yet, unfortunately :(

As of 3rd of October 2025, still ongoing. The app recognizes spelling errors, the user right clicks and selects a corrected term and nothing happens. On my end, this issue only applies to PC app, the phone app and PC browser Steam are both fine.
