Tell that to my ryzen 5800x. Had to replace it with a 5800x3d to get the game to run smoothly. There's a difference between bad on actually old hardware and bad on relatively recent hardware due to being poorly optimised.

CS2 is the latter.

People are complaining because the game has been out for two years now, and frankly, it's using (the Dota 2 engine, which is 10 years old). The game is absolutely not optimized, you need NASA-level PCs to get decent FPS for a competitive FPS that generates billions a year. It's really not right of Valve (you've seen it, update after update, they break the game, one update is meant to fix something, and three new bugs appear). At the launch of CS2, we had more FPS than we do now. Even pro players complained about frame drops with insane setups, that's saying something (ropz, s1mple...). Then again, you're right, some people really do play on PCs that could barely run CS:GO.
Here ill ♥♥♥♥♥ about something else.

Every casual game I join is two dudes versus bots. Why? Are people even getting xp from doing this. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird.

You certainly don't need NASA level PC to get good AVG framerates in CS2. The problem is bad 1% lows which unfortunately are aproximately the same regarding hardware after certain threshold like 7800x3D/i7 13700K onwards. People with the most powerful components money can buy get the same crappy 0.1% lows as people like me for example. I have a mediocre PC and the game seemingly runs fine except the horrendous 0.1% lows.

AVG fps 640 but 1% lows 240 @ 1920x1080, 4xMSAA and ~medium settings. 0.1% lows are the real problem.

thats bs, i have gamging pc and cheap gaming laptop with rtx 4050 and i ger 200-300 fps even on laptop
People having bad PCs has nothing to do with the game is being poorly optimized though.
It's apples and oranges.
So,how much?

dont defend a very poorly optimized game, my theory is most of it is vac checking angles, times, etc for whatever reason idont know, because it certainly isnt for cheating!

That's quite an interesting take! Optimization is constantly being refined in CS2. Valve's dedication to VAC and a smooth gameplay experience are paramount. Perhaps you could elaborate on your observations about specific instances of perceived optimization issues? Details help us understand better.

I've started to theorize it's the shooting which is poorly optimized. First occurred to me in a 20 man multi cfg deathmatch - I could feel the 1% lows until it switched to headshot only mode, then everything felt smoother with the same number of players. Only logical cause I could think of is that everyone shoots a lot less bullets when going for headshots only.
