how? why? small game out many years...how do u ppl have these issues, every forum on steam has identical posts:

game crashes
game won't start
denuvo sucks
ubi launcher sucks
origin launcher sucks
rockstar launcher sucks
epic games store sucks
etc.
etc.



you're on win7, old pc i guess, maybe disable freeware virus poop or other weird software

No one mods. I try complie delete this folder and game, but it's noy helped

I can confirm the latest update broke the game.
Windows 7 x64.

When I start the game via Steam or Steam Shortcut It doesn't start, no errors, no anything, just silence,
If I start the game via Risen.exe file it throws error:
"The program can't start because xinput1_4.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem".

You guys are on an unsupported Windows. No support or updates from Microsoft anymore, and games or programs are not tested on Windows 7 anymore either. I'm afraid the only valid answer in that case can be: Upgrade to a supported OS.

If I try to start through Steam normally I get stuck on "Preparing to launch Risen".

However, if you right-click on Risen in your list, click "Manage", select "Browse local files", go to the "Bin"-folder, then double click the "Risen.exe"-file, it should start normally.

Xinput1_4.dll is not found.
This file for Win8-10...

it is not help.

i am on win 10 and it wont start for me cant any one update a game with out breaking every f*cking thing

No issues at all on Windows 11 x64 so Win 10 will work fine.

well my game worked fine till update now wont start keep getting Could not load script module?
