Ashley will probably become an entity. It's in the dream/vision andrew saw when he stole the trinket from ashley in the car. We see a thing, that looks like an entity/devil whom we assume to be Ashley.

Also the handmark stuff andrew gets in burial route. The entity looked like that mark in Andrews hand.

The whole ascending stuff devils keep mentioning too. Being a tarsoul human seems to be the last step before it.

Ascending seems like sacrifing the last thing that holds you to this world. For ashley it's andrew.

Lord Unknown wants Andrew to "hatch". That can imply turning andrew into a tarsoul. Thus ascending him to devilship status. What lord unknown or the entity for that matter, does with the ascended ones remains a mystery.

While typing it out, and all the cannibalism stuff in the game. And ashleys explanation in decay route episode 2 (while they eat(only Ashley eats there) their parents soup), that eating human meat gives her power.

She also kinda figures out that "souls" that entity eats are kinda his meals. Like the source of their energy. They need to consume souls to exist.

One thing i figured out just now, is, the way these entities power up, meaning, they as a being become stronger, is by cannibalising other entities! This is why these entities look out for tarsouls. They turn tarsouls into new entities. Then they cannibalize on these new entities. Thus becoming stronger.

Lord Unknown is so strong and mighty because (for as long as a decade) he must have cannibalized on a lot of entities already, compared to Ashley's "the entity".

This is why Lord Unknown helps Andrew. He is literally cooking up his own meal.

How one ascend, is still a mystery. However, it seems like killing, sacrifing, cannibalising on the last thing that holds you to this world seems like the correct answer/ritual.

Tho, the plothole of my theory now is "Why don't the entity try to hatch Andrew?"

What about other grime soul in his soulfarm/place? The entity even has a tarsoul-to-be (Renee).

This can be simply explained as "Because the entity already has Ashley"

Also entity said/meant that grimesouls and tarsoul-to-be's are useless.

So does Lord Unknown help any grimesoul with potential out? Especially tarsoul-to-be's...

Well. Ashley is turning into an entity. They feed on souls, and Ashley is drawn towards that more and more as you can see in Ep 3. She also is getting more and more into cannibalism as she just wants to eat more human souls, but go for the flesh instead.
You can also see her soul as a big entity when Andrew invades the spirit world without her.

If you ask me. A tarsoul is just an entity that hasn't turned yet. While a grimesoul lacks the strength of becoming one.
